Sutton School Employee Spotlight: Becky Jenkins

January 16, 2025

Meet Becky Jenkins,

Sutton School Math & Science Teacher

Becky Jenkins, also known as Mrs. Jenkins to her 3rd-4th grade students, has worked with Sutton School and ÎÞÂëÊÓƵ District for 14 years! Becky grew up in a large family who had deep roots in farming. Becky, along with her parents, her three other siblings, cousins, and aunts and uncles spent much time working side by side on the farm, learning great work ethic, compassion for animals, and how the world works.  Becky started babysitting when she was in 7th grade. Through growing up with a large family and her time spent babysitting, she learned early in life that she had a love for children. That love and compassion that she grew for children inspired her to become an educator.

Mrs. Jenkins was asked a series of questions regarding his time at Sutton School and with ÎÞÂëÊÓƵ District. Below are some of the questions that were asked, followed by her answers.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working in a school?

Answer: "I enjoy seeing and hearing students working together and helping each other out. I see this all the time in our small school".

Q: What have been some of your favorite moments as an educator?

Answer: "My favorite moments are when my students have been working with a new math concept and all of a sudden, they get it. They are excited about it and want to show everyone how to do it!".

Q: What are you looking forward to about this school year?

Answer: "I am looking forward to watching students grow!".

Q: Do you have any additional information that you would like to include in your employee spotlight?

Answer: "I thank my parents each and every day for what they taught me on the farm!".

Mrs. Jenkins, we express our heartfelt gratitude for everything you do for the ÎÞÂëÊÓƵ District, Sutton School, and your students! Your dedication, passion, and commitment to education have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for the positive impact you make every day. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated!
